Anemia

Anemia is a pathological condition in which decreases the amount of red blood cells. The red blood cells are those which contain hemoglobin, the substance that carries oxygen to tissues and removes carbon dioxide.

Anemia may be caused in two ways:

1.With blood loss, when talking generally about anemia

2.With the lack of iron by the body, either by diet, either due to poor absorption, so talking about iron deficiency anemia.

Iron is an essential element for the synthesis of hemoglobin.

Before starting a specific diet or medication must be diagnosed with anemia about what exactly it is. There are many types of anemia and each type wants his own action, eg if someone has anemia from lack of vitamin B12 can not take folic acid or food high in folic acid.

I repeat that we must diagnose anemia by doctor, assesment of your overall health and taking immediate and appropriate nutritional treatment or medication if necessary.
